Mary Jane Udell-Greer, 41, of Sioux City died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at her residence from complications with cancer.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary B. Snyder officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in South Sioux City. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m., and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Greer was born March 4, 1960, in Sioux City, the daughter of Thomas C. and Mary V. (Gill) Udell Sr. She graduated from North High School and attended Dakota State University in Madison, S.D. She married Michael L. Greer on Sept. 2, 1999, in Elk Point, S.D. She had been employed at Curly's Foods.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was active in youth wrestling, football and baseball. At one time, she was a member of the Woodbury County Sheriff's Posse. She had previously played and coached softball and had been active in WCCAA Headstart.

Survivors include her husband; her parents of Sioux City; four sons, Angelo and his wife, Cassandra of Ames, Iowa, and Tyler, Titus and Austin, all at home; a daughter, Maria Ann Greer and her fiance, Jesse Maldonado of Fresno, Calif.; two brothers and their wives, Thomas and Jackie Udell of Dakota Dunes, and Ronald and Kristen Udell of Sherrard, Ill.; two sisters and their husbands, Alice and Michael Lundgren of Elk Point, and Pamela and David Bracken of Omaha; and three grandchildren, Martisha Greer, Adriana Maldonado and DeAngelo Greer.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Deboraha Whitmore and Norma Sordrager.

Pallbearers will be Thomas C. Udell Jr., Ronald E. Udell, Anthony L. Greer, Christopher H. Greer, Russell E. Marx and Cody M. Harris.
